Fallera stood near the entrance of her dark, shadowy house. The lights were all off, except for one glowing green one on the upper left window. Markus was practicing, or perhaps just reading by witchlight. Fallera had a small ball of light that she was rolling around her long, slender fingers, controlling it with her glowing silver fingertips. She waited. Everything was ready. Four seconds left before Rose was supposed to arrive. She waited.
Fallera narrowed her eyes. "Sorry doesn't change anything. You should be glad that you made it." The witch closed her palms and the silver glowing sphere disappeared. "Come." Fallera stood and lead Rose to a clearing in the forest near the Marcer House, where everything was prepared. "Did you bring your ring or object?"
Fallera nodded. "Sit." She pointed to a chair. The witch placed a couple of unknown herbs on the ring. Fallera had a look of deep concentration on her face, and gradually her hand began to glow silver. So did the ring. The herbs began to burn, and smoke, black smoke started to waft from the stone table. A silver tentacle rose up with the smoke, and together, it with the black mist, headed towards Rose.
Rose sat obediantly, and watched as Fallera did her magic. Suddenly a sharp pain made her fall of the chair and grip her head. It felt like all of her viens were bursting. She looked up and saw a young, blonde girl emerge from behind a tree. A look of pure concetration was set in her eyes.
"Stop the spell!" Elena yelled as she kept clenching her fist, making her magic harm Rose. It wouldn't kill her, it was a short rapture of all of the viens in the werewolf's body but since she could self-heal she had to keep using her magic, making it painful for Rose.
The spell was not cut off, and Fallera simply looked at Elena with a scary calm in her eyes. "Hello, Elena. Wesley is your last name, is it not?" She laughed at the surprise in the young witch's eyes. "You wonder how I know this. You of all people shouldn't be surprised. You should sense my power, little witch." Her eyes turned slightly colder, and her irises looked like chips of silvery green ice. "Now tell me why I should stop the ritual. My client has... already made a deal. And I don't do refunds. You know I could defeat you as easily as a tiger kills a kitten."
Elena narrowed her eyes. Her power still fixed on Rose as the werewolf howled in pain. Her body cringed in painful spasms as her vessels burst repeatedly. "I'm quite aware," She hissed. "One thing you should know. Werewolves are manipulative, she won't go on with her promises, she'll probably just end up leaving town to find her other packmates, you know."
Fallera rolled her eyes. "Of course I know, idiot. I've made more pacts than you could imagine." Via mind control, she told the witch, I put a tracking mark in the spell. If I give her the ring then I can watch her every move. With another deadly look at the young witch that Fallera couldn't help but feel a bit of respect for, she asked Elena, "Why do you want to keep the spell from taking effect so much?"
Elena narrowed her eyes into slits. "Because she'll cause nothing but trouble. First she'll kill off Damon and Jeremy, which won't be horrible, but I know she won't stop. She'll go on with the humans and eventually she'll probably leave Mysticville in destruction. She's no good."
Fallera shrugged. "Cart her off somewhere else. You know what I can do. I can bind her with her promise- you must know that if you promise a witch something, to break it means that the witch can do whatever she wants with her. And if she doesn't break it, then I can make sure that she doesn't destroy Mysticville. Simple." Fallera kept the spell going easily. "Besides. With a flick of my hand I can make a thousand werewolves crumble into dust. How do you think Rose will stand against me? I'm just as powerful as the other witch here. Karolli."
"So you'd manipulate someone? That isn't what we are supposed to do. We are supposed to be the balance between nature. If you let Rose have what she wants that will tip off the scale," Elena snapped. The anger rising within only made her powers stronger. Rose cried in pain.
Fallera rolled her eyes. "I didn't manipulate anyone. Do you even know what that means? We had a deal. She breaks it, she dies. She obeys it, she does what I say. It's not manipulation. It's an agreement." The older witch looked disdainfully at Elena. "Stop trying to find something wrong with my business. I do what I do. It's not your, or anybody else's, business."
"I don't think she'd agree to that. She's a werewolf. They don't have feeings meaning she wouldn't agree to die. She's not going to listen to you. Well, she'd probably rather die than listen to you. And the only way to kill a werewolf. Well.. you have to remove their hearts from their body, and it's my buisness if you threaten the balance of my town," Elena retorted.
"I know how to kill a werewolf, thank you very much. I just told you I did. And I'd be more than happy then to dispose of this one. Since you all hate her so much, why should you mind?" Fallera raised her other hand and placed it over the girl's chest. "She has caused me too much trouble anyway."
"I hate werewolves, vampires. It doesn't matter, but we have to keep the balance. I wouldn't kill anyone unless they've tried to kill me or harm my family," Elena snapped.
Fallera shot Elena a look. "You know that Damon or Jeremy would kill her anyway. Might as well do it now, and save them the trouble." At the younger girl's furious look, Fallera decided to try a different approach. Fallera pointed her finger at Rose and suddenly the werewolf froze where she was, her cries of pain breaking off. She gestured for Elena to stop her spell. "Your spell won't take effect anymore. She's frozen. It's safe. Let's talk, like civilized people, instead of screaming at each other." Fallera didn't wait for Elena to reply before she pushed on. "Let me make you a deal this time. If I make her the ring, I make her promise me -a blood promise- that she will not destroy the town. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't get her ring, or whatever she chose to be her... "magical object". If she accepts but breaks the promise, then she will automatically be binded to my will, and will pretty much be a minion of mine until she dies or, more likely, suicides. That's what happens if you break a blood promise, by the way," Fallera added, in case Elena wasn't sure. "So chances are, either she won't take it, or she's honest and will take it. Do you agree?" Fallera looked across into Elena's eyes, her expression clear and cold as ever but the most genuine she got.
Elena thought for a moment. "What makes you think she'd actually agree to being your slave? I'm pretty sure she'd rather hunt down another witch that is willing to let her loose rather than not letting her wreck havoc on this town."
"Exactly." Fallera held back her eye-roll of exasperation. "If she doesn't agree to my deal, then I don't give her the ring. Or whatever she wanted. That's where you're happy, because nothing happens. Personally, I'd like it better if Rose agreed to not destroy the city. Or town. Because then she'd have the ring, and you'd be fine with it, and I'd get a blood promise. Which always makes me happy." Fallera finished and crossed her legs, waiting for Elena to answer.
"That's the whole point, moron!" Fallera growled, finally rolling her eyes and freeing Rose of her spell. "Alright then. Hello there. Dear Elena and I had a nice little chat, and we've reached a decision. We've decided to let you choose."
Fallera noticed Rose's discomfort and handed her a bottle of water, then began talking. "Either I make the ring, and you make me a blood promise that you don't harm Mysticville. If you go against the blood promise, you become controllable by my will. Or, as Elena would prefer, you let it go and I don't make you the ring at all. So, basically, if you're honest you don't get hurt. If you're dishonest you'll probably die. If you know what would be the best choice, you don't get the ring." Fallera shrugged. "You decide."
"Then I suppose I won't make you the ring." Fallera stood and with a wave of her hand, the chairs and table disappeared. "Keep the water." She turned and made to leave.
Fallera stood near the entrance of her dark, shadowy house. The lights were all off, except for one glowing green one on the upper left window. ReplyDeleteRose appeared through the bushes on the other side of Fallera's house. "Sorry, I forgot I had to talk to one of the council."
ReplyDeleteFallera narrowed her eyes. "Sorry doesn't change anything. You should be glad that you made it." The witch closed her palms and the silver glowing sphere disappeared. "Come." (Woahhhh... long comment....)
(Woah XD)
ReplyDeleteElena thought for a moment. "What makes you think she'd actually agree to being your slave? I'm pretty sure she'd rather hunt down another witch that is willing to let her loose rather than not letting her wreck havoc on this town."

ReplyDelete"That's the whole point, moron!" Fallera growled, finally rolling her eyes and freeing Rose of her spell. "Alright then. Hello there. Dear Elena and I had a nice little chat, and we've reached a decision. We've decided to let you choose."
ReplyDeleteRose shook her head. It was pounding but nothing a little drink couldn't solve. She turned her attention and snapped, "Yeah? And what are my options?"
ReplyDeleteFallera noticed Rose's discomfort and handed her a bottle of water, then began talking. "Either I make the ring, and you make me a blood promise that you don't harm Mysticville. ReplyDeleteRose growled and snatched the water bottle from Fallera. "I'm no honest person, and I don't plan on killing myself."
ReplyDelete"Then I suppose I won't make you the ring." Fallera stood and with a wave of her hand, the chairs and table disappeared. "Keep the water." She turned and made to leave.
ReplyDelete"I will," Rose snarled and drank from the water again. "Stuck up witches and their stupid bargains," She muttered.
